{199 days!}

As of today, I've officially left the 200s and entered the hundreds! 199 days left until Baby Sanchez should, hopefully, arrive. Yay! What an exciting milestone. :o)

Here's the message I was greeted with when I logged into thebump.com today...

And the cute little animation on my blog...

Ahhh, *only* 199 days left. Haha. Tick, tock, tick, tock...

nursery idea {dwellstudio owl crib set}

Cutest. Bedding. Ever.

As a set, it's wayyy too expensive {$349!,} but I'm considering buying a bunch of the sheets, {$36,} and asking my lovely mother-in-law to turn them into bumpers, a quilt, etc. I keep watching for the set to go on sale, but it's one of DwellStudio's best sellers, so no such luck {yet.}

DwellStudio Owls Crib Set:

They even have matching bibs & burp cloths... I die.

{bib & burp cloth set, $32 @ modernnursery.com}

And this hooded bath towel? Precious!

{200 days!?}

Only 200 days left until our due date, July 16th, 2010. Wow. 80 days down, already. That went by fast!

Here's a list of the landmarks we've already experienced...
  • Positive Pregnancy Test: Friday, November 6th after a yummy dinner at Pizza Nova in San Marcos.
  • 1st Ultrasound: November 18th, 2010 @ 5 weeks, 5 days. Saw heartbeat flicker on the screen. Found out the fertilized egg dropped from my right ovary.
  • 1st Preggo Trip: Visited Mom, Dad & Mel, and Daddy Chris in the Bay Area November 19th-22nd.
  • 2nd Ultrasound: December 18th, 2010 @ 10 weeks. Saw fingers, toes, arms, legs... and his junk! Heard his heartbeat- nice and strong at 148 beats per minute. So precious.

{junk pic, haha}

{profile shot}
  • First kick {maybe?}: December 27th while laying in bed on a lazy Sunday morning with the husband. I definitely felt something, and I'm convinced it wasn't gas. Hehe.
I bought the cutest little owl journal to keep all these landmarks in and write little entries about what's going on with my pregnancy. I need to get on that! Our little one is going to be here before we know it. :o)

{12th week}

All the baby books say it's too early, but I swear I felt a kick this morning. Evan was resting his head on my belly in bed when BAM, I felt a swift kick right by my belly button. Evan didn't feel anything, but I sure did. How exciting. We've got a little soccer player on our hands!

Here's some info on how big Baby Sanchez is and what he's up to this week...

As you move into the second trimester, baby shifts into the growth and maturation stage. After weeks in the critical development stage, almost all of baby's systems are fully formed.

  • How far along? 11/12 weeks
  • Total weight gain/loss: 5 lbs according to our last doctor's visit {I swear a LOT of it is bloating!}
  • Maternity clothes? I got these GREAT pants from Nordies called "Lounge Pants." They have a stretchy waistband but aren't technically maternity pants. I've been living in yoga pants around the house.
  • Stretch marks? None from baby, not yet.
  • Sleep: Really struggling to stay up past 9pm. Waking at least 3 times to potty each night. Arg.
  • Best moment this week: Saw our little boy on the 18th, and Christmas this week. Yay!
  • Movement: None yet.
  • Food cravings: Not really craving anything. Loving fruit, granola, & yogurt. Mmm.
  • Gender: It's a boy!
  • Labor Signs: Nope.
  • Belly Button in or out? Still in.
  • What I miss: Energy
  • What I am looking forward to: New Years! What a year 2010 will be. :o)
  • Weekly Wisdom: Just breathe...
  • Milestones: Told all of Evan's family at Christmas. Grandma Betty is VERY excited to be a great grandmother. ♥

    {our little lime}

    Your fetus currently enjoys a 1:1 ratio between body and head, and has skin so transparent that blood vessels show right through. But, fingers and toes are no longer webbed, and hair follicles, tooth buds and nail beds are forming -- setting up a significantly more attractive future.

    {it's a boy!}

    After what seemed like an eternity of waiting, we had our 10 week ultrasound with Dr. Biter today. Totally unexpectedly, we found out that Baby Sanchez is, as we suspected, a BOY! He sucked his thumb throughout the ultrasound, and his heart rate was 148 {normal is 120-160.}

    We are over the moon!

    {10 weeks!}

  • How far along? 10 weeks
  • Total weight gain/loss: I'd guess about 5 lbs...
  • Maternity clothes? Nope, not yet, but the pants are getting a bit snug.
  • Stretch marks? None from baby, not yet.
  • Sleep: As much as possible, please.
  • Best moment this week: No more morning sickness, and we have our first appointment with Dr. Biter on Friday. :o)
  • Movement: None yet.
  • Food cravings: Asian food is the only thing that sounds TERRIBLE right now. I'm eating a lot of string cheese and yogurt. Mmm.
  • Gender: I've started calling Baby Sanchez "he." Just a feeling...
  • Labor Signs: Nope.
  • Belly Button in or out? Still in.
  • What I miss: Being able to stay up past 9pm. My occasional soy Chai Tea latte.
  • What I am looking forward to: Our next ultrasound 12/18, and CHRISTMAS!
  • Weekly Wisdom: Never underestimate your husband. Evan has been cleaning and being totally amazing, without even being asked! I'm a lucky lady.
  • Milestones: We're 1/4 of the way there. Wow.
  • {our little prune}

    You're getting so big so FAST! ♥
    With bones and cartilage starting to form and vital organs beginning to function, baby is making major progress. Body length will almost double in the next three weeks, and arm joints are now working. (Soon, legs will too.)

    {our little green olive}

    Your little embryo has now officially graduated to fetus-hood. Adding to the excitement, a Doppler ultrasound device might be able to pick up the beating heart. With basic physical structures in place and increasingly distinct facial features, baby is kind of starting to look like... well... a baby!

    {mmm, mac&cheese}

    Talk about a crazy rain/wind storm yesterday, wow! Evan & I spent the evening cuddled up under blankets watching our favorite TLC shows. Come 8:30pm, we were both pretty beat, so we hopped into bed and turned on an episode of Law & Order: SVU. Cue intense craving for macaroni and cheese. Thankfully we had some, so Evan went out and threw a pot of water on the stove. That's about all I remember... until he wandered in about 20 minutes later with a steamy bowl of cheesy goodness. I has fallen asleep the second Evan left the room, hehe. The joys of being pregnant! Constantly sleepy, hungry, funky cravings, exhaustion, more cravings. Gotta love it. :P

    I found this cute little preggo survey on another blog, so I thought I'd start filling it out each week. Enjoy.

    • How far along? 9 weeks
    • Total weight gain/loss: Last week I had gained 2 lbs...
    • Maternity clothes? Nope, not yet! Pants still fit great.
    • Stretch marks? None from baby, not yet.
    • Sleep: I've been getting a ton of sleep. Usually wake up once for a potty break around 5am.
    • Best moment this week: Discovered "Ultragest," a digestive enzyme supplement that has curbed my heartburn and bloating after each meal. Yay!!!
    • Movement: None yet.
    • Food cravings: Nothing too severe. Most of the time only one thing sounds good... pizza, mac&cheese, or cereal.
    • Gender: Chinese Gender Chart and old wives tales say "boy."
    • Labor Signs: Nope.
    • Belly Button in or out? Still in.
    • What I miss: Energy to go running, staying up late with Ev.
    • What I am looking forward to: Our next ultrasound 12/18, and Vegas this weekend!
    • Weekly Wisdom: Person who coined term "morning sickness" must have been a man.
    • Milestones: Baby Sanchez has graduated from embryo to fetus!

    {9 weeks!}

    Evan thinks it's crazy that I already want to start taking belly pics, but if not now, when? In order to document the entire transformation, we have to start now! :o)

    My first official {non-iPhone} belly pic:
